Who should attend this training?

Anyone who works with 1st-12th grade students is welcome, including classroom teachers, homeschoolers, support staff, administrators, tutors, and pre-service teachers.

How much does the training cost?

Nothing! Our webinars are completely free.

Is this really training or just a sales pitch?

We completely understand why you would ask that! Though we do share information about specific DGP resources, the training provides lots of strategies that anyone can use without purchasing materials or paying subscription fees. Following each session, each participant receives a certificate of attendance and free resources from DGP Publishing. Here is some feedback we've received from participants:

“I have attended several other online grammar workshops and been disappointed, but Dawn Burnette’s Meaningful Grammar workshop—wow! The content was truly game-changing, and I didn’t have to commit to monthly or yearly subscription fees. My students and I are thankful!” (Melissa, PA)

“I attended one of Dawn’s sessions in person at a conference a few years ago and loved it. As our school's funding for travel diminishes, it’s great to be able to get the same amazing training online for my whole department—for free!” (Greg, TX)

“I’ve seen dozens of grammar programs that claim to be ‘different,’ but they really aren’t. Daily Grammar Practice is the only one that is quick but TRULY meaningful. This webinar was well worth my time.” (Keshia, LA)

"Dawn's Reading for Meaning webinar was eye-opening for me. I've always discussed literature with my students, but I never really understood how to help them understand all the nuances of texts--especially informational texts. I've been using the techniques from the webinar to help my students prepare for the SAT and ACT, and their comprehension has improved dramatically." (Colleen, GA)

"This session was well-planned and delivered with lots of examples of strategies that teachers can bring back to their students." (Crystal, GA)

"I love the idea of working with a variety of grammar concepts at the same time instead of just individual topics. I believe this will help my students better grasp the overall structure/purpose of grammar, while also encouraging them to think more critically about their own writing. Mrs. Burnette was very informative and offered relevant examples to convey the benefits of the DGP program." (Elizabeth, OH)

"It was very helpful! Thank you for the practical strategies for both teaching grammar and connecting it to writing practice in a meaningful way! The brain research to back up the approach was great! I'm excited for us to try this approach with our students this year!" (Rachael, TN)

Is this a live training?

Yes! The training takes place via Zoom with a live instructor. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions, and we limit the number of participants in each session so your questions won't be overlooked.

Who teaches the training?

Our workshops are taught by veteran teacher and curriculum developer Dawn Burnette. For the past 20 years, Dawn has taught workshops at conferences and has traveled to schools around the country to teach professional development. She has also taught students of all ages in physical and online classrooms. Dawn is passionate about teaching language arts, and her webinars are engaging, informative, and inspirational!

When is the training, and how do I sign up?

At the bottom of this page, you will find a list of dates/times. Each webinar is about an hour long. Just choose the one that's best for you; then click on the registration link.
